Feathers take 4

And we’re going back to the very beginning…

Next verse, same as the first but a little bit louder and a little bit worse…

Right at the start, we talked about breaking up our blocks. We’ve broken them up with ribbons, we’ve broken them up horizontally, and we’ve broken them up diagonally.

For your last feathers block, break it up. Go mad. Go crazy. Go for your life!

Sometimes I get brain freeze about what a design is going to be, and just have to start quilting. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. I’d call this a doesn’t. But it was fun to experiment with and having fun is what free-motion quilting is all about for me!

Now it is time to trim those blocks back to 7.5″ square (if you used my original block measurements) and get ready to bind. Emmy is going to demonstrate three binding methods at our next Perth Modern Quilt Guild meeting so I’m hoping to learn some new tricks and I’ll be sure to share them with you after that!
